"LADY LIBERTY" PRINT RELEASE WITH $200 FROM EACH PRINT GOING TO SAVE THE CHILDREN

Artist Christy Lee Rogers celebrates Americans today with a message of hope and freedom; in the release of her new star-spangled limited edition photograph.

Christy’s Labor Day release is titled “Lady Liberty” and was created in one of her first underwater photography shoots in her home sate of Hawaii. It was kept private for over 10 years and is now available as a Museum Quality Photograph, 22.5 x 30” (57 x 76 cm), in a limited edition of 100 via UK based A Gallery. $200 from each sale will go direct to Save the Children.

Christy says: “The children are our future, and we need to safeguard them and their freedoms and rights to be anything they want to be. They should live in a safe world and be nurtured and protected from harm. This image stands for freedom in all forms.”

 Save the Children

Through Save the Children’s work in the United States and around the world, they've changed the lives of over 1 billion children. They work in over 100 countries, doing whatever it takes — every day and in times of crisis — to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. In 2022 alone, Save the Children programs and partners helped 118 million children in 116 countries become healthier, safer and better educated.

CHRISTY LEE ROGERS IS PART OF “GUARDIAN OF WATER”, AN OUTDOOR EXHIBITION AT PATER NOSTER, SWEDEN - JUNE 2 – AUGUST 30, 2023

Outdoor Exhibition at Pater Foster, Sweden - Christy Lee Rogers and Zena Holloway - Cursed by UponWalla

During this summer, a spectacular photo exhibition will be shown at the award winning, remote lighthouse island, Pater Noster, in the archipelago of Gothenburg. The outdoor exhibition "Guardian of water" is a tribute to the sea, with photographs by world famous photographers Christy Lee Rogers and Zena Holloway.

The award-winning photographers both shoot underwater to create weightless images. When the photographs are shown in their right element, on the windswept island at the end of Gothenburg's archipelago, it tickles all our senses in an almost magical way, says Mirja Hagsjö, CEO of Pater Noster.

Photographers Zena Holloway from Great Britain and Christy Lee Rogers from Hawaii have attracted international attention with their artistic images taken underwater. They both are very involved in environmental issues and the health of the world's oceans.

The exhibition is a tribute to all the oceans on earth and consists of 18 world-class photographs, printed on recycled aluminum and in recycled wood frames. The Vernissage is created together with UpOnWalls.

- The exhibition is part of our work to increase knowledge about our oceans and the life that exists there. At Pater Noster, we want visitors to leave the island with greater knowledge and humility about what our seas have to offer. And we hope that the exhibition will contribute to that, says Mirja Hagsjö.

The Pater Noster Art Hall ‍
In the island's smallest building – the lighthouse keeper's outhouse - an art gallery has been created, where, in addition to the larger exhibition, five works by Lara Zankoul from Beirut are shown. Her work captures everyday human behavior and issues that arise within society through photographic media. She has participated in exhibitions at Ayyam Gallery and Art Lounge in Beirut, at Guy Hepner Gallery in New York and HEIST Gallery in London.

Pater Noster is an attractive excursion destination for the public during the summers. The exhibition will be open to all visitors between June 2 and August 30.

The legendary lighthouse, and the solitary lighthouse keeper's residence, is one of the world's foremost design hotels, that has won several awards such as the World's Best Hotel Concept 2021 and the Stora Turismpriset 2022.

"EXPLORING VULNERABILITY" CHRISTY LEE IS DOING A TALK WITH THE ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

“Harmony” from the Muses Collection

The Royal Photographic Society Contemporary Group is about photography which can and often does cross all conventional genres. Emphasis is put on photography based on expressing ideas; on meaning and purpose, with sets of images to a theme rather than individual stand-alone photographs.

WATER ARTIST CHRISTY LEE ROGERS RELEASES THE FIRST IMAGES AND VIDEO FROM HER LATEST COLLECTION “LUMINESCENCE”

In physics, Luminescence is the ability of certain objects to generate light through the excited state of its atoms when exposed to frequencies like ultraviolet light – which Christy is using as a metaphor for our own ability, when we concentrate on the positive, to create energy that lifts the world around us. Via her new series, which uses deep, pitch black pools with models intensely illuminated by high powered under-water spot lights, Christy hopes to shine a light into the darkest depths of our consciousness to excite the urge for us to generate our own form of Luminescence.

WATER ARTIST CHRISTY LEE ROGERS RELEASES THE FIRST IMAGES AND VIDEO FROM HER LATEST COLLECTION “LUMINESCENCE”

Light has captivated humanity since time immemorial, and has often been associated with spiritual freedom, health, healing and goodness; it is responsible for the creation of life on our planet through photosynthesis so the transport of energy by light plays a critical role in life itself.

Christy explores the ideas that light surrounds the human body but is invisible to the eye, just like many wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum. Beyond light, she examines the idea of other life forms in a science fiction type of reality, where in some images, splashes of color create nondescript forms, in weightless spaces.

Christy said: “If there was ever a time that we needed a Renaissance it would be now.  So I wanted to imagine a different kind of Renaissance… a Renaissance of body, mind and spirit into the unknown.  With all of the conflicts that are happening in the world, the rise of artificial intelligence, plans on traveling to Mars, the idea of making humanity multi-planetary, incessant talks of war; it reminds one that we have to get ready to look at life differently.  For me this collection was a pleasant escape into a new frontier.  A way of letting go of preconceived ideas and exploring with my heart.”
